Hello, I’m Grace Knight—a recent high school graduate passionate about the Lord and people. I was born near the capital city of Kampala in Uganda, Africa. I lived there with my biological mother and sister until I was 9 -years -old. At a young age, my sister and I learned how to live independently and care for ourselves. In June 2015, I immigrated to the US. Six years later, I found myself with a loving foster family, and by God’s grace, my adoption was finalized soon after. Since then, I have diligently pursued to integrate into my new home and bond with my parents and siblings.
Growing up, I acknowledged God existed but did not seek to know Him or follow his ways. In 2019, I gave my life to Christ but still had no firm foundation in my faith. A few years later, I was experiencing a rough season and knew I needed to turn to God for help. I deeply desired to form a genuine relationship and be transformed by God. Still, I understood if I stayed in public school, where I felt constant pressure to conform, I would not pursue God wholeheartedly, so I chose to transition to homeschooling. Being Homeschooled allowed me to dive deeper into God’s word, and therefore, I started to awaken to the true freedoms, healthy boundaries, and the identity God has for me. I now choose to frame my perspective by governing my thinking and behavior in this new identity I have in Christ. Through the love and support of my hometown community, I’ve realized the two most vital things in life: Love God and Love people.
I have consistently engaged in two part-time jobs(as a barista and janitor) that allowed me to practice a good work ethic and understand the value of time and money management. I enjoy traveling, learning new languages, playing sports, practicing my violin, and meeting new friends.
Right now, one of my biggest goals is to develop a lifelong availability and heart for serving and growing in faith. Through this blog, you can walk alongside me as I partner with a Discipleship Training School (https://ywamrogaland.no) to do just that- grow a greater love for God and people.
